Leading the independent verification (IV) of the successful design for the structural modification of the existing interchange addressing capacity upgrading and safety improvements. This project included legacy structures that require remedial measures to secure structural performance of the interchange due to alkali aggregate reaction (AAR) to safe guard their intended design life. Solutions utilise external post tensioning to improve both flexural and shear capacity of existing post tensioned girder bridges in combination with deck widening. The project also involves the construction of 1.2km of 4m high noise walls and the construction of two nominally post tensioned concrete underpasses on soft soils.

A closely integrated design and construct team has seen the IV respond effectively with the wider project team achieving project milestones.
