Design team leadership for the delivery of 12 pretensioned concrete bridges out of a total of 40 bridge structures on the project the largest traditional design and supervision contract let by Network Rail at the time of project inception. The designs required to minimise the disruption to the existing rail operations and the interdependent road traffic routes. Innovative design solutions used pre cast modularity and pre-fabricated structural steel were used to ensure quality of construction and reduce the length of construction activities minimising the risk of possession over runs affecting the existing network service delivery.
